Soaring Demand for Christian Hip-Hop Propels Rise of Holy Culture Radio, Video

Wilmington, Delaware, September 19th, 2022

In April, Holy Culture Radio (HCR), a staple in the Christian hip-hop community, expanded to a full-time “edutainment” channel on SiriusXM Radio, broadening its reach into its faith-based rap audience.

“There has always been a question of whether there is a market for Christian hip-hop music,” said James Rosseau, founder of the nonprofit organization that operates HCR. “I believe our 5 million subscribers have shown that the genre has broad viability given the above average listener engagement we’ve seen across our 14 shows and music mixes as we play a wide diversity of Christian hip-hop artists.”

HCR’s programming features faith-based rap and rhythmic music from some of the biggest names and upcoming artists, a variety of DJ mixes, and empowering conversations intended to educate and inspire its audience.

“I am ecstatic at how God has moved in just over four months, allowing us to leverage our extended platform to share the voices of more than 300 artists with millions. Further, I could not be more proud of the HCR Squad — from our hosts and DJs, to the internal team, that is making it all happen!” Rosseau said.

With a focus on the themes of Faith, Arts, Vocation and Education (FAVE), Rosseau says that HCR provides a unifying blend of three factors important to its audience: connection to popular culture, connection to their faith and success in their careers.

“HCR acts as a megaphone/amplifier of awareness, a portal for tools, and the creation of a community and movement that helps people find their superpowers and learn how to activate them,” Rosseau said, adding that while the platform serves all, they are very focused on young African Americans.

Holy Culture Radio is owned and operated by The Corelink Solution, a nonprofit founded by Rosseau that delivers curriculums “to help people develop their passion and purpose, create an informed plan, use provided tools to help them succeed, and establish accountability and ownership.”

The Holy Culture brand aims to promote Christian values and lifestyle through media. Holy Culture Radio can be heard on SiriusXM Channel 154. Learn more online, or follow Holy Culture on Twitter (holyculture), Instagram (holyculture), Youtube (holyculture) Facebook (holyculturenet) and Tiktok (@holyculture.net).
