London revealed as the most popular location for remote workers to travel to
The most popular locations for digital nomads around the globe has been revealed with London topping the table. The team at award-winning, language-learning #app Busuu, have looked into the most popular destinations visited by remote workers.
The top 10 locations are …
Data from #Statista has found that #London was the #city visited the most by digital nomads in 2022.
Although it’s expensive, London is very attractive to digital nomads and remote workers for a number of reasons.
London is seen as a great transportation hub with the option of using buses, trains and the underground to get around. The internet connection is also quick and reliable which is a must if you’re working remotely.
On top of that, London offers the best of both worlds—you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of the past paced city lifestyle or live in more tranquil areas like Kingston.
Thailand is also a very popular tourist destination and the second most popular with a lot of digital nomads heading to Bangkok to work.
It’s a place known for having fast Wi-Fi and a large selection of co-working spaces - two really important factors for those looking to travel the world while they work.
Third on the list is the city that never sleeps—New York.
It’s not surprising that New York is high up on the list as it’s a great hub for business and, like Thailand, it has so many co-working spaces to offer.
However, New York is one of the most expensive destinations on the list along with London with the cost of living being quite high.
Remote workers looking to travel to New York should consider their accommodation costs along with the cost of their food before heading to the Big Apple.
Since the pandemic, remote working has become increasingly popular, leading to an increase in digital nomads across the world.
A #digital nomad is someone who travels whilst being able work remotely with just an internet connection and their #laptop.
A spokesperson from Busuu said: “For a lot of Londoners the thought of being able to work remotely from anywhere in the world sounds like a dream, but I think they’ll be surprised to find out that, actually, they’ve been working from the best place all along.
“The UK’s capital is great for remote workers who love to travel as it has delicious food, a fun atmosphere, exciting nightlife and it’s a really great transportation hub.
“Not only that, but London is also an incredibly multicultural city, with a range of different cultures and languages being celebrated.
“Bangkok and New York are also popular choices which isn’t surprising, Bangkok has fast Wi-Fi which is obviously important for digital nomads and remote workers.
“If you do have the luxury of being able to work from anywhere in the world, just make sure you are planning ahead. You want your time to be stress-free, figure out your budget, research co-working spaces nearby, and don’t forget to immerse yourself in the culture!”
